Fillings may not need drilling. We can use a fine stream of powder, air-blown smoothly and comfortably, without vibration, on to the cavity in the tooth before placing a filling in to match exactly the shade of the tooth.
Air abrasion can also be used to roughen a small area of tooth enamel prior to bonding a composite resin filling to the tooth. This results in a far stronger bond and a longer lasting filling.
